Why is exporting a reference file taking 2 hours? I thought it was just that a reference file? a pointer?

it was shot in 1080i. My timeline framerate is 29.97

I just tried to render a SD timeline compressing it to 8 bit uncompressed, but got a message saying out of memory. Why would that be?

I’m trying to create a widescreen SD DVD. The original one I did for the clients’ trade show booth Played on plasma didn’t look as pristine as I thought it would. I’ve created a DVD directly from the EX1 timeline to compressor. I’m open to suggestions Jeremy. Can you explain how to export a self contained HD movie? When I tried to do that earlier today I had a squeezed 4X3 movie. It sounds like a good idea though.

It turns out that multiple still images are the culprit. However they are all in a RGB color space.
Is there a way to fix this so I don’t have to create moves on each one again? I’d like to just drag the the EX1 sequence to an SD sequence and render.

Is this why why all of my titles and graphics created in livetype are blown up too large when copying to the SD timeline? The same for still images? Should I have created a new SD sequence and then dropped my EX1 sequence into it? I did the copy and paste. and now I’m stuck with fixing all of the graphics.

Also the sequence settings I’m using are:
Frame Size 720X486 CCIR 601 NTSC (40:27
Pixel aspect Ratio NTSC-CCIR 601/DV Anamorphic
Field Dominance Lower (even)

Compressor: Apple Pro Res 422

Does that all sound right?

Rafael I really appreciate all of your help. Can you tell me why all of my titles and graphics created in livetype are blown up too large when copying to the SD timeline? Why wouldn’t they have transferred the same way as my video image?

It happens in various points in the time line. It renders fine in a DV sequence. But I’m worried about the quality out of a DV sequence to DVD. Thoughts? It seems like the problem is related to Pro res.

after 12% completed the same codec not found warning appeared. I had followed Rafael’s advice and saved the project with a new name and restarted.

This is based on the post below where I’m following Rafael’s and Andrew’s advice on taking an HD EX1 timeline and Create a new sequence, Apple Prorez 422 NTSC open the sequence settings and check the 16:9 anamorphic box. then drop the HD EX-1 timeline into the SD Sequence.

This whole project has been edited rendered and output to DVD. The quality was not great. That’s why I’m trying Rafael’s and Andrew’s advice.

FYI all photos worked fine in the original HD timeline, so I don’t think it’s a photo issue.. The original footage is 1920 X1080i shot at ex1 1080i60.

Right now it’s rendered 10% and seems to be working (knock on wood)

Also it’s saying the estimated time is 3 hours to render the SD sequence which is 17 minutes long. Does this seem realistic?
