  • Hey thanks for the advice, I tried using that Comp however, it ended up using way too many resources this way. I finally decided to use Stylize> Motion Tile and then duplicating the layer as neccessary and parenting the layers. I was able to create the exact look I need and would recommend this method if someone else has the same need.

ok so I did do it right last time iguess because i did the same thing you just described…now I tried it again and got the same error I got last time….”Exception: Operation not supported, filename:creating0″ the only thing I can think of that might create this problem is the fact that my external is currently in Fat32 format and doesn’t support the large files. However this error come up immediately after I click “Consolidate” Thanks again.

ok i created the animation file and thats worked in after effects but now I have a different issue, i’m exporting as an animation..I’ve applied a few effects, one of them being a full color correction. I am in a standard DVCPRO HD 720 23.976 Comp however, when I render and export in render queue the file comes out distorted in a 4:3 format and it will not play well…it stutters and skips a lot…any suggestions?

To answer the above question, I never did get the slow motion to work with the DVX100A although as many have explained above, its definitely possible but may not produce the best results.
However, now I have at my disposal the JVC GY-HD200 that shoots in 720p60fps and I do believe that I will be able to easily convert that footage to 24p and get 40% smooth slow motion, is this correct? Is there anything I should do to make this the best quality it can be?

    Thanks

Hi, I greatly appreciate both your responses, I think my difficulty has to do with something simple to the trained AE eye however my project is due next thursday and this is just a tiny aspect of it that is neccessary only to my creative aspirations. That being said I came up with a round about solution. I completed and rendered out the comp with the brick wall exploding and put that back into another comp and used a luma key to key out the black and put the background footage under it. I know it was a somewhat unconventional way to come up with the solution but it worked just fine. I’m a student at Boston College and I’m taking a course focusing on After Effects next semester where I’m sure i’ll be able to fill in my AE gaps a bit. Thanks again.

yea everything is set on high…i even exported my project and tried to combine it with the rest of the clip in my FCP timeline and it didn’t come out too bad…but there is a difference…when i find the matching frame to continue my shot from the one with added effects the one from after effects is blurry and the same frame is not blurry in FCP…it comes out decent but not perfect. I suppose that this will probably end up working however, I would like to figure out why this is for next time.
