Thanks guys, I guess after all these years I can still depend on the Cow for any and all of my Vegas questions!

So do you think it’s safe to say I won’t have this issue if I go ahead and upgrade?
    Thanks,
    Randy

So the mp4s of today are different than the mp4s of 5 years ago?
I would be curious as to how…I mean looking at the properties of the source video it looks no different than a 1080p mp4 (29.97 fps, 48k audio).
I used to buy every release of Vegas (also a beta tester) but I can’t justify upgrading for fun.
Is there no other workaround (process thru another app 1st or something)?
    Thanks Steve,
    Randy

  • Thanks, that is one of the first things I did prior to posting here.
    Thanks again,

September 28, 2015 at 9:26 pm in reply to: HDVsplit doesn’t recognize device

Thanks very much guys…yes Steve I tried VidCap ()in Veg Pro 12 also with no luck.
After reading the thread Mike suggested it seems that Win 7 is not recognizing the xha1 as it doesn’t appear under the “Sound, video and game controllers” section in Device Manager.
The camera seems to be connected as the “HDV/DV in” doesn’t flash (xha1’s way of showing a connection) so it seems to be a driver issue.
I’m using the Texas Instruments driver which were the ones people suggested many moons ago.
Any ideas as to what I might try next if I know the cable and port on the camera are okay?
    Thanks again my friends,
    Randy

Thanks, I realize I can delete the other audio tracks but like I mentioned I needed to save them for reference points to make sure I keep all 4 tracks synced throughout the editing process.
Anyway, I can work around the issue, I’ve just never seen this happen and was just curious.
    Thanks again,

By the way, have you heard about or tried the script based
    Frameserving to Handbrake rendering?

Not at the time of reading your post but after googling I do : )
    https://www.vegasvideo.de/vegas-2-handbrake-en
If that is what you’re talking about I’ll really have to utilize it since I have to upload weekly 30-40 minute 720P clips to YT (presently taking up to 10 hours via a 20 mbps hard wired connection).
What’s funny is that I used to use Handbrake a few years ago when I was uploading a lot and then forgot about it somehow after a year’s period of not uploading at all.
So THANK YOU very much Steve!!!

    Thanks guys,
Are you rendering to a UNC named share or mapped network drive? I would try mapped drive and see if the network issue remains.

After googling to find out what the heck you’re talking about I think it must be UNC named share…I don’t know much about that stuff but later today I’m going to try to do the mapped network drive thingy.
    Thanks again,
    Randy

  • I’ve changed my email to my gmail acct…maybe my website email server wasn’t forwarding them as usual.
Perhaps someone could reply to this (just enter “test” if you want) so I can make sure it’s working now.
    Thanks very much,
    Randy
EDIT- never mind I just got notification of this post…thanks again
