BTW, I have “Email me when someone responds” (entire thread) but have never received an email on this thread…is this a known issue or just me?

Hey Dave,
Did you ever use the integrated graphics on that mobo…if so how would you compare the performance of it to the AMD HD7850?

A Radeon HD6970 is the best card that you can use in Vegas today. On eBay is $100-125.

Wow really? I wouldn’t mind using the best… especially for THAT price!

Thanks John, the Intel Graphics 4000 also supports opencl and having Vegas set to take advantage of that does help my render times slightly but the preview and gltchy sound is driving me nuts.
That said, I will definitely take your advice and get one of these cards.
Also, I’ve been using MainConcept AVC because I had issues with the Sony renders…hopefully the new card will allow me to not have to use MC any more.

Can someone tell me if the 750 would be an upgrade from Intel Graphics 4000 (integrated)?
I realize it doesn’t use opencl and Intel Graphics 4000 but I’m not too impressed what I have.
Is this a good deal and if not can someone suggest a better deal on a GPU in the same price range please?

If the dv in in the upper left is flashing when the firewire is plugged in, then yes, I’m afraid the Canon’s firewire port is toast.

or your firewire cable is bad like I just now discovered was my problem (after replacing my FW card and jacking with XHA1 settings)…thanks for this thread though as it is what made me consider the cable as the last resort!

That makes sense Steve because I was having to do a whole lot of selective prerenders b/c the whole timeline was hd Movs and couldn’t get smooth playback.

Yes except the “open” button would be greyed out (regardless if “close this dialogue box when rendering completes” is checked or not)

Yessir I did that along with disabling GPU (not sure how that got turned back on) and it rendered fine the next time without copy/pasting into new project.
