Yeah, I hate it too when that BIG RED ARROW appears – bummer . . .
Seriously, you must’ve tried to click somewhere outside the work area, to clear that Selection – yeah?

April 17, 2019 at 2:56 am in reply to: No audio tracks when importing avi file with Vegas 15.0[George Dean] “Although Vegas will render AC-3, I don’t think it really likes to decode it.”
Correct. I’ve never seen an AVI having a AC-3 Audio component. I’ve prepared heaps of DVDs with MPEG2 video and AC-3 audio. AVI with AC-3? Bizarre, and yet, fascinating at the same time ????.

[Renato Gyuris] “Is there any way to disable the opacity control area on the timeline. “
Been using VP since 2002, never heard of one. BTW, it’s never ever been an issue for me.

April 11, 2019 at 3:39 pm in reply to: Double clicking on media won’t load into trimmer[Robert Maier] “It’s a great time saver when it works. I miss it. Any hints about why it’s not working?”
Yes it is. Something has broken Vegas. Try a Factory Reset? You will loose your current settings, up to you. But you may just get the Double Click back. If that doesn’t work then we have to start looking deeper.

To be honest, I haven’t a clue as to what your issues are. Leo, would you kindly describe what’s happening and what you’d expect to happen. Unfortunately from that YT I can’t discern what it is your asking. Sorry . . . ????

[marty watt] “For instance: can I paste copied text, scroll vertically. In 13, it was still such a monumental pain to get text to scroll.”
Yes in all versions from VP6 (maybe earlier too) thru’ VP16.

[Sascha Fau] “Is there an video effect for this or do i have to create new text files and add them 1 by 1.”
Erm…? Looking closely at that example to me it’s rather a Reveal, rather than one letter at a time. The Letters appear quite Static and I can see the next Letter to be revealed in-line, ready to be revealed. If this is the case I’d suggest there’s no need for the complexity of a Graphics Package.

[Paul Beller] “due to the quality of the video …… i am positive that there was a clean plate made for the sky and then sky was keyed out either by keying or by mocha roto. quite a lot of work but of course it is possible to make it within sony vegas plus mocha or some bcc key plugs.”
Ah, now I understand your proposed approach and I concur. These in turn predicated on:
1- An already filmed clean plate.
2- Several addition plugs that requires the User to obtain the skills to implement these tasks. I’ve used and could see MOCHA doing a handsome job. I’ve done it with individuals passing in front of an African Elephant, the appear and disappear and reappear. Also a 4×4 rushing away down a dusty track. Fading out the Jeep to only leave its Dust Cloud scrurrying down after the Ghost vehicle. ????

[Paul Beller] “don’t want to spend too much time on thinking about that but …… many strange things would occur on the sky using compositing. so for the sky i propose different aproach:”
Well, yah got my attention. ????
[Paul Beller] “1 combine parts of the video to make a clean plate of the sky. “
How? Or rather to what extent? And yes, if this is possible definitely a way to go.
Your remaining points I get. It’s your Point 1 that I also got to and thought, neah….
OK, there was a VP Project, about a billion years ago, “The Two Cats” Project that depended on an already captured Scene, here that would have been without Cats, and for this Project, NO KITES.
