Ah! I was waiting to get some idea of just why you were wanting to have an automated option for something like “Copy To Clipboard”, which, in essence, is a one shot function. Now that I know a bit more and that you wish to make this process more automatic, how about rolling the video and hitting the M key at those points where you wish to create a still/thumbnail and fire off a script to create and collect all these – 10, 100, 10,000 shots you wish?
The Vasst and the JetDv.com sites have much to offer and this is where I got this link from and where I got this next site from:
https://s92274348.onlinehome.us/vegas.html
Here you will find a storehouse of scripts.
The one I just reassured myself that works, and in VP8, is TumbnailAtMarker.js script.
And it does exactly what I said.
As my video rolls by, and hitting the M marker key, I get a seris of markers. I then ran the script; it creates a bunch of Marker placed thumbnails within the folder. I then scooped these up out of the folder and plopped them on the timeline.
What do you think?
Actually, I don’t know about 10,000, hadn’t tested it that far!

4 – Ability to add blur to font edges – that is, add blur to stroke value.
Applying to “Stroke”, I can control Gaussian Blur to a Sample Text in either horiz or vert OR both.

GO > Media Generator > Color GRADIENT > “Linear Black to Transparent” – you’ll need to adjust the rotation of the the two “bands” – and downwards to lower third too, but I’ll bet you’ll find what you want in there. That WOULD give you fade to/from a black. But would you still want soft focus too?

“Am I missing something . . ” Yes, and that is you CAN’T paste, what is in effect, a GRAPHIC directly onto the Vegas timeline. That’s the clue! You need its file to be IMPORTED to the veg project first. (. .see below)
“ . . or is there some other way to do it?” – Yes. Source just WHERE the page/background comes from: JPG, PNG, BMP or whatever and then IMPORT that into your veg project. Once you have it there, THEN you can plop it onto the Vegas Timeline. However, you can also “drag” it from its containing folder directly OR Media Manager onto the timeline. But, copy>paste – nope! And yes, you CAN copy and Paste AVIs from Veg to Veg!!

In Vegas 7: Options > Prefs > Video Tab > Show source . .. gets you Timecode OR Time or Frame Numbers for Event – but not a Date. And no, this isn’t the FX timecode. This is the real Event timecode – but not a date.

Thanks Edward for dealing with me in a patient and clear manner.
I can’t ask any more of a person. We’ve had a lot of fun with Excalibur over the years – huh?You are a “mench” among “menches”!
Best regards,
