You sound script-savvy? I’m not, so for your “Region Naming Render”, I just used VASST’s UltimateS Pro. Applying the features you want took me maybe 10 seconds of 3 clicks and, Boom! Job done. Great product and has much, much more to offer. My version has 15 Toolbox Tabs of NLE Editing assist. If you are in anyway needing to get to that “finish-line”, this’ll do it.
John Rofrano created it, and I lean/rely on his s/w knowing it will do what I want, quickly, easily and with the least amount of brain power required from me – which I’m telling you, is a majorly big PLUS!
So, what price your time?

I can answer you with what you’ve got once you are in Vegas.
Presently I’ve assembled FOUR veg projects into one for the purposes of making all four work together: Lower thirds; Audio standardisation; some colour grading/correction and general broadcast fidelity.
Each veg project will consist of several Tracks and a multitude of edits. When these vegs are imported into this Assembly project they appear as a single Event consisting of the Video stream and the Audio stream.
This process is called Nesting, and still allows you to reopen the underlying Veg file further editing. It isnt rendered out, but is represented as a Proxy file.
Is this the result you want? I’m my experience it has been very straightforward, if it wasn’t, I wouldn’t be using it – Lol!

Yes, Steve, I’m doing this all the time, again with my XF300.
The MXF wrapper contains Canon’s MPEG2, and I can work directly on them on the Vegas Timeline, just as I did with SD-DV footage. In fact I’ve been mixing both together, with careful recognition as to the demands this makes on VP11 (ouch!), and VP10 (not so ouch!).

If you Right click within the Folder Tree View you can set up a Boolean Search for Count Greater than 1 or 2 or n where n is your appearance value.

In the Project Media Pane there is a Use Count column. There is also a Search on option that will give you the amount of Use Counts searches. Once you’ve done that you can save to another BIN. Very useful.

Why are you involving yourself with the “Trial” version of the 64bit? Why not the FULL version? What was your reasoning?
In any event, when I downloaded both 32 and 64 they decided where they wanted to be. I just let them carry on with their install.
