    Hello everybody
I working on ( for me ) a complex educational video. I start with 3d cad, import those elements into Carrara, do the animation, export stills from the animation and quicktime files. Import those stills into Corel draw, create overlays. Bring the animation, HDV footage, overlays into Vegas, edit add VO and titles. Because each scene has so many elements I wish to build and edit each scene separately, and in fact each scene will have a different number of audio and video tracks.
Will I be able to edit separate scenes them build them into one large session for transitions and rendering? If I can my biggest worry is will the tracks all need to line up between sessions, and how the media bins will work. Or should I just bite the bullet and render each scene then assemble. My main concern would be loss of quality.
    Thanks
    Brad

    Hmm…

I can answer you with what you’ve got once you are in Vegas.

Presently I’ve assembled FOUR veg projects into one for the purposes of making all four work together: Lower thirds; Audio standardisation; some colour grading/correction and general broadcast fidelity.

Each veg project will consist of several Tracks and a multitude of edits. When these vegs are imported into this Assembly project they appear as a single Event consisting of the Video stream and the Audio stream.

This process is called Nesting, and still allows you to reopen the underlying Veg file further editing. It isnt rendered out, but is represented as a Proxy file.

Is this the result you want? I’m my experience it has been very straightforward, if it wasn’t, I wouldn’t be using it – Lol!

    Grazie

Thanks, that sounds perfect! Now that I know what to look for I’ll dig through the manual for nesting.
    Thank You!
