Are there any AGC functions active on any of the templates?

For me, this is THE most confusing and “opaque” process of them all. I’m being serious.
First off, you’ve asked a most important question. Secondly, there is much discussion and angst expressed about the subject. Tristan, like others here, I can import MPEG (MXF files) AVI, MP4. Mix then the Timeline and do everything you’d expect to do with them. As long as those same files abide by the industry standards. If I stray outside these standards then all bets are off!
Get GSpot or MediaInfo and establish just what you have. Could be that the CODECS for those files aren’t present on your PC. Now comes the really sticky icky point: DON’T install a CODEC pack, to attempt to read files that in themselves wouldn’t be seen by Vegas anyway. You could get into all types of issues.

They look good within Trimmer? But they look blurred while viewing them on the Timeline?
How do they “look” when viewed through the Preview Window?
If you haven’t set Preview to BEST, you wont get the BEST Preview.
Need to know more.

Your Preview is suggesting “800” – 1920×800? Have matched you Project Settings to the Media? Apart from that, I’ve no idea.

If I want to sync “Camera” motion to Audio placed Markers, I’d use Track Motion. I’ve also used Ultimate S Pro4 for complex Marker and positioning tasks.
If you want to stay with PanCrop the Loop the section on the TL and adjust each position. You can Group PC kfs and use ALT+ClickHOLD and move to the right to stretch to increase proportionally the spaces or doing the same and move to the left to compress the kfs proportionally. This way you have much control.
