Hi Matthew! I don’t add any active NoiseRedux in any Chain. You are correct, PS and VP are different: A Photo is Static. It deals with “set” Space or Spacial space. Video moves from frame to frame in time or Temporal space. I’ve understood Video Noise Reduction can deal with both. Frames “Spatial” static and frames moving “Temporal”. How would we be able to be certain and then have a colour correction that deals with a static snapshot or Sharpen again dealing with a Spacial space? It’s complex.

So, what do I do? I do correct Noise, but first and nothing else active – done. I also use steadying software prior to Noise Redux – done. Then I can be assured that I’ve got it ready, as good as it can be, and then do Colour stuff or Sharpen or any other FX that’s not Temporal. It’s complex. So for me I uncheck everything that’s NOT NoiseRedux.

An observation I’ve just made: Why are you using Sharpen?

If I can use the analogy of Audio repair. I use Noise redux prior to any SFXs.

As to understanding Spatial and Temporal Noise redux I did a quick GoogleDoodle and got back this “paper”:

Hi Jono! What card have you got now? And generally what Media do you use? This will give us an idea what you’re used to getting the Preview FPS presently and then what you could be looking at. Would that help?

Also do look at the signatures of COW members to get an idea. Have a look at my signature. I’ve had this built for me and I’m truly happy with it.
