It is starting to “appear” like a graphic card driver issue.

If you’ve already followed and applied Steve Rhoden’s advice, and still it’s a “no go”, see if you can get back to or reinstall the GPU driver? Maybe your card is unstable?

This way beyond my abilities. I can’t help further here, sorry.

1/- Was this your first ever install of VP12?

2/- Did you “install over”, or do an uninstall and then install?

I’ve had installs needing to be redone.

Before you do that, do try the factory reset sequence as described by the SCS FAQs:

“You might try resetting the software to its factory default settings. To do so, close the program. Now press Ctrl+Shift and reopen the software. A window asks “Do you want to reset all preferences to default values?” Select the Delete all cached application data checkbox and click Yes. Note: If you reset the software to default settings all customized preferences will be reset. If you have changed any specific preferences and you want those changes back, you will need to reconfigure these after resetting the software.”

Well, you can’t delete the existing factory Templates – not a bad idea! – what I do, and one of the reasons I adore the newer “Render As” Menu is that I prefix all my Render Templates with my initials – GB. Now when I wnat to recall just my own I punch in GB and I get back my Homegrown Templates. I can also apply more search options say: GB MP4 , and that will bring up my own MP4 Templates. Don’t forget you can also use that YELLOW * STAR for your Favourites.

So, in many ways, there are many ways to get your search done and to de-clutter too!

Hmm.. working here on VP12 Build394.

Do your other FXs work? Especially any that have an eyedropper involved in the process? How about the Color Corrector?

You may be looking at at least a Factory Reset or a reinstall of Vegas. If you are getting this all the time then chances are that you’ve got a “sour” install. Has happened to me too and trying to chase these annoyances down can be rather removed by a Factory or reinstall.

What Build are you currently on? And do you install-over or uninstall and then install? There is much internal connection of functions that are setup in installing, you may just have been unlucky.

Apart from inducing eplilepsy – that sample should come with a HEalth Warning! – is the footage supposed to flow nicely?

Look, if it IS supposed to flow nicely, you’ve got a mismatch of framerates<>sampling<>rendering something is creating havoc with your project.

Kaleb, in principle that should work.

1/- I can’t see your Cursor on the example you’ve posted. Where’s the Timeline Cursor?

2/- I can’t see what you have to the Left or Right of what is a very small Screen-shot sample.

3/- I’d want to see a screen-shot of the sample showing the media clearly.

4/- What Text Event Generator are you using?

5/- What Format is the Video Media?

However, in principle that should work.

You need to have the Text Event on a separate Track above the Video and use the Fade Offset controls at each end of the Text Event. The result will be your Text Fading UP and as you reach the end of the Text Event it will fade DOWN.

Is that what you want?

From what you’ve described It sounds like you have the Text Event on the same Track as your Video and have used a Fade to Black Transition at each end of the Text Event.

Lets see a screengrab of what you’ve got.
