Slowly roll your Mouse over the far right edge of the P/C Pane. You’ll see the Cursor change to a Double-Arrowed Cursor. Hold Left Mouse button down and Drag Left. The F Window will return.

Commendable, if a a wee bit obsessive? Once a year does me.

On the same machine that was working? Try starting a BRAND new project SIMPLE project and try rendering out.

Sure, AVI is the container. It’s what’s inside that you need to find out and THEN establish if you have the CODEC for it.

How many “Events” – when you place any Media on the Timeline it becomes an EVENT. Many changes of FX and compo and so force more work for VP.

Well, that could be ONE of the choke points. Try getting the media to a fast connected internal drive.

1/- What Media are you using? Is it ALL the same media?

Yes all the same media from my Fraps recording program and the audio is all mp3

So, what is the format of the “FRAPS” content?

2/- What FX-ing; compositing; Track Motion are you using? – Nothing here?

4/- What are you rendering to? MainConcept Mp4- internet 1080 HD –

Until we can establish just how much work Vegas is needing to do, with possible mismatch of Settings to Media, this could be a factor. Also, please try and render a SMALL section to another Format, not MainConcept one.

5/- What Version and Build Number of Vegas are you using? Sony Vegas 12 64-bit Build 394 – I see you’ve had Vegas 11 installed on your machine? Is it still there? Was THIS Project created in VP11?

6/- What are the specs of your PC? And Operating system? Make aned version of Graphics Card?

Is your GPU one that is recommended by Sony for Graphical and Render Acceleration?

7/- Where is your operating system residing? C Drive? I dont understand the question. Sorry I am limited in my tech knowledge.

It would appear your operating system is on your C drive. Yes?

8/- Where is your media residing? On a separate partition. F Drive. Also on an external hd. Two separate places

How is your external drive connected to the PC? USB or firewire?

9/- Is the inside of your PC free from dust? Yes just cleaned it two days ago.

Well, that’s good. But what pushed you to do it 2 days ago?

There’s much for you to answer. My money is on a mismatch of your “FRAPS” media attempted to be rendered to an MC Template outputting to an MP4 Format PLUS a mixed in MP3 audio.

5/- What Version and Build Number of Vegas are you using?

6/- What are the specs of your PC? And Operating system? Make aned version of Graphics Card?

9/- Is the inside of your PC free from dust?

Please answer these.

The less info you provide, the more we ask. Can’t do it any other way.

Toolbar > Options > uncheck “Quickfade Audio Edits”

But you have lost me here?

1/- Matched Media: Does your Project Settings Match your Media? BTW what is the format your Media?

2/- When you say:-

What do you mean you have 6000mb available? Have you set aside this amount for Build RAM previewing? Why are you mentioning this figure?

3/-Start Up Message: Why do you get asked how you wish to use Vegas? Admin or not? I don’t?

4/- AWOL Media: You have a Project with missing Media. Why? Do try starting a fresh project where Vegas KNOWS where all your Media IS and that the media exists in those folder for Vegas to use.

5/- Drives: Also, are you accessing the Media from the same drive that your system is on? Do you have a 2nd Drive in that Laptop?

6/-My Results: Same Track Motion 4×4 Project; 1920x1080i 25 MXF Media; Auto Preview for Optimum Playback is Preview Half and at Forced BEST I’m getting 17fps. Meaning, it’s working for me.
