At 75% PhotoJPEG is full quality 4:2:2 Y’CbCr
at 100% it is full quality 4:4:4 RGB.Thats why!

iMovie captures the DV stream as is, FCP captures it and wraps it up as a .MOV – very different!
Now, for any 24p material that’s causing bother, I suggest capturing with the most basic NTSC DV preset (no pulldown stuff) and see if you can get that in ok. And then try the remove pulldown tools in FCP and cinema tools once you’ve got it in ok.

FCP doesn’t even support image sequences…. You’ve got to hack it together by a string of 1 frame still image imports, or use Quicktime Pro to convert to a video codec.

I think that’s just an error on the FAQ. The camera does 1080p24 and 1080p30, both get embedded in a 1080i stream though.

Why no 1080p? I don’t get you. Where does it say that?
Basically, you stop shooting, connect your drive, and dump the P2 to your drive. Faster the drive, faster it happens.

I doubt an image seq would be more friendly…
If the mac is up to it, a PhotoJPEG75% capture will be more than good enough for BetaSP, as would DVCpro50
