OT: Meeting people in person
I just got back from the DV Expo where I got the pleasure of shaking Gary Adcock’s hand. Now that makes three COW leaders I have met, including Michael Horton and Tom Wolsky. Still waiting to meet Ron and Kathlyn.
ANWAY…always nice to put a face with the text. And I tell you, you guys look VERY LITTLE like your picures. Well, Tom does, but not Mike and Gary.
Walter is far far away. But I will be heading east soon so…ya never know.

So Shane did you get to play with the panasonic HVX-200? Or the Canon XLH1? Any thoughts?

Play with…no. See…yeah. I will see it more in depth tomorrow…and I heard they have footage that a professional DP shot, so I have GOT to see that.
The XLH-1 looks sweet. VERY in depth camera….so many controls you can adjust…would make a DPs head swim. And it shoots 1080i only…which isn’t a bad thing.
But the HVX-200 shoots many many many formats. The rep claimed it shoots 81 different formats. I’ll have to see more for myself tomorrow. Plow thru the crowd.

Shane, I always enjoy meeting everyone at the trade shows and putting faces to the names as well. I’m surprised you didn’t stop and say “hi” to Ron and Kathlyn. They were both there in the Creative Cow booth (I was there too for a couple hours). It’s in the last row, near the back. If you go back tomorrow or Friday, look for them (hint: they have the Creative Cow shirts on).

Hey Shane! I will definitely be at NAB 2006 and Canon has already asked me to appear in their booth in support of their HD Prime Lenses. We shot our short film with the Varicam and the Primes so they will be showing scenes from the film in their booth.
But if you get near Atlanta anytime soon, call me!

We always enjoy meeting the cow people… That’s why we come to the shows. We’re in booth 847. Like Tony! said, it’s the last row of booths.
