No real time back-up – but it will allow you to dub from P2 to DV for safety, or for slowmo effects etc.

How full is that hard drive? It’s best not to capture to the system drive, but to another. You can fit another SATA driver internally quite cheaply and that should solve everything.
However, you should also check that your system drive is functioning well, that it’s not too full, and I’d also run disk utility on it to repair permissions and check it’s health.

How are you importing – which “easy preset” are you using? What camera? Which 24p mode?

I used to do a lot of manipulation in photoshop, but these days, it’s mostly basic enhancement – LAB curves for saturation, and a bit of selective sharpening, and sometimes my own way of dodging and burning to control contrast. Both the wheel in the attic and forest path have a lot of dodging / burning to deal with their contrast!!

Was done with Aperture for the web gallery. That was quite nice, but all the images are ACR -> Photoshop!
Basically, the cataloguing, pixking selects, capture, etc. in Aperture seems fine, with one or two little bugs, but the RAW conversion is poor, produces posterisation on even small adjustments etc. And the white balance is wrong.
So, Apple, who tested this for you then???
