October 4, 2010 at 6:41 am in reply to: Spoken Word Search in Video Editing ApplicationsI work on oral histories and use the new, beta, free download, Adobe Story to transcribe my interviews. I then use Adobe Premiere Pro to attach the script to the video as meta data. Then I export the video to Adobe Encore and output it as an Adobe Flash Video that is fully searchable, just like a text doc.

I have discovered a new way to do the voice transcribe. I have not yet tried it yet but hope to find time real soon.
Using the new beta Adobe Story, currently a free download, to attach a script to the video file. If this works as it claims I should be able to have someone ‘transcribe’ the video the old fashioned way using Adobe Story, save it as an xml file, then attach it to the video as metadata.
I know that this will be time consuming but not as much as trying to correct the inaccurate Adobe voice transcription.8mm & 16mm film to DVD

Is there nobody that has ever used the voice transcribe?
Am I posting this in the wrong forum?
I guess I will try posting under Flash.

Sorry I cannot help with finding it…
Adobe says they have improved the voice transcribe in CS5.
I have CS4 an accuracy is LESS THAN 10%. I would like to know if the improvement is significant or if it is still near useless?

I’m sorry, I feel like an idiot now. The site is not live yet so I gave the wrong URL.
This is the correct address
https://www.visitstevens.comNow to top it all off I think I may have solved the problem. The white border happened when I use “save for web” and saved it as a 128 dithered gif. The logo that is up there now was just saved as a gif (did not use the “save for web”. The final product only had about 10 -15 white pixels total around the edge. I reopened it in Photoshop and penciled over the white pixels, save it and it appears to have taken care of the problem.
Thanks everyone for your input and I apologize again for the wrong URL…

The .gif is the Visit Stevens logo at the upper left corner, red ring and green state with light yellow letters.

It appears, after doing a little more work, that my problem has multiplied.
Here is what I have done so far along with a little background.
I have been editing video for about six years using Avid Liquid. When I decided to go with HD I made the decision to switch to Adobe. I built a high-speed computer with MS Vista 64, purchased Adobe CS4 and a Canon XHA1 camera. This is my first attempt at using them all together.
I found that Premier Pro will not recognize my camera, making downloading video dificult. I tried MS MovieMaker to download the video. I used it to download the SD footage and the HD footage. When I try to import all the video into Premiere Pro the SD imports with no problem. The HD gives me an error, “file format not supported”. The file type shows as xxxxxxx.dvr-ms. When downloading with MS MovieMaker I set it to download as MPEG.
What do I need to do to get my computer to recognize my Canon XHA1? I feel that if that problem was solved I could at least get the HD footage downloaded in the correct format.
I would really appreciate any input you have on this. Thanks…

Thanks, that gives me some to think about. I have guess I need to save a little more $$ before I get one.
I’m with you, pay a little more now so it won’t be obsolete by the time it is delivered.8mm & 16mm film to DVD

Yes I am working with a .psd and yes I flattened the image before I resized it. I am only resizing it because I need one samll for a web page and a larger pdf file for downloads.
Maybe I need to just make two different documents? Thanks for your help.
