It does sound like he is not trying to keep any relative sync…or the black spaces in between would be just fine.
Now on to 496 clips titled “untitled” all with the same timecode! Ouch!

I guess the question is why did you delete sections of the timeline and not just close up the holes?

You are saying you have two shots next to each other with say a dissolve in between. If you extract the second shot, the dissolve gets buggered up? I’m not seeing this in 8.5 PC

what are your movie files?
Storage throughput is an important step in the process. A single 2 tb internal hard drive is probably the beginnings of your problem.
It is not how much storage…but how fast.

Well you could make a new audio file.
Take your original audio file that won’t export, and spit it out as a new wave file. Import that wave into the project, and cut it into your sequence where needed.
If that file was the problem, your omf export should work.

So you are trying to plug a thumbdeive directly into the TV. A smart TV scenario. What formats does the tv specs say they support?.

Depends on your needs and goals. Personally, if you can afford the purchase price, and can justify the perchase price for a job or two that will help pay for it, then I would purchase it. I have two current dongles, plus a 7.* license and a few older licenses as well…5.5 and maybe even a dongle for 3.5 somewhere.
I’ve loaded the 7. license up on other computers to do low res transcodes. The 5.5 licenses are totally in active, but I could certainly use them to cut with if need be.
The current licenses are obviously my workhorse, but because I own them, if I ever decide I only need to update 1 of them, the other will certainly be useful for years to come.
Scour these forums and you will find all sorts of editors using all sorts of license versions. That’s one of the best things about Avid…they don’t totally lock you out if your version becomes less then current.
That being said, if you purely just want to learn the program, and you don’t have any paying customers willing to fund your exercise, then a few months worth of rental might be the way to go until you get established. But at some point, I would want to have the ability to quit paying monthly fees, but still be able to use my software. I’m not a huge fan of that pricing model at all.

Do you have consistant frame rates between projects?

Double check your spelling of the folder.
You can also open Avid and create and render a text element, or import a still, and let Avid create the folder for you. This may tell you if you have some rights issues with the drive.
