Hi Jim,

Under preferences>playback you should have a box that says Video Playback with a Blackmagic Playback option that you check.

Hi,

Just installed CS6 & having issues with Blackmagic HD Extreme. Neither computer nor external monitor match the BM audio. It seems to drift a little as well. As OP mentioned this wasn’t an issue with 5.5.2.

Hopefully there’s a solution to this, I was under the impression external monitoring was supposed to be one of the new and exciting improvements in CS6.

I’m working with a 2010 MacPro 8 Core with an NVIDIA Quadro 4000 and BM software v 9.5.1

Hi Filippo,

I can’t tell you what the official configuration for 2 cards is supposed to be with Premiere, but I’m a Resolve user as well and decided to keep both cards in with the ATI in slot 1 and NVIDIA in slot 2. Lot’s of instability in Premiere 5.5.2, for myself relative to FCP, and it’s never clear what’s causing it but testing without the ATI card didn’t seem to help. I’m hoping things stabilize with the arrival of CS6 and am eager awaiting the shipment notification from Adobe. Hope that helps.

Thanks for all your replies!

It ran the following day without any crashes on the BM sequence. I’ll just keep my fingers crossed this will improve in CS6, which, according to the Adobe website, is supposed to ship to me tomorrow, or June, or whatever the official release date is that isn’t posted anywhere. 🙂

What I want to know is if I should be connecting my display into the Quadro Card, or is OK to connect to the ATI card, and if my setup is responsible for some of the instability I’m experiencing.

It’s available for pre-order now.
If you go the the Adobe website and put CS6 in your cart it says that it will be available May 6th. Anyone have a promotional code for the upgrade?
