CS 6 release date
Posted by Ron Pestes on April 23, 2012 at 6:39 pmSo when is CS 6 going to be released? The intro Adobe did this morning did not give a release date and it is only available in their store as a pre order. Did I miss something?

If you go the the Adobe website and put CS6 in your cart it says that it will be available May 6th. Anyone have a promotional code for the upgrade?Cheers,
Gerry

Choose the “Special introductory pricing for existing customers” link on the right side of the Creative Cloud page on Adobe.com.

April 23, 2012 at 10:25 pmWhat is the upgrade path that people here are taking?
I’m not sure if I should go with Creative Cloud or a regular Production Premium CS6 upgrade. What are the real differences? What will I gain/lose with either one? I know that Story has different options now in particular. Any difference between the upgrade and the cloud?
Possibly a question for Dennis…
Thanks All!!

April 23, 2012 at 10:47 pmAs far as I can see…
the pluses of Creative cloud is that it gives you access to all the adobe tools plus their touch apps, a collaborative community, and cloud storage for a low, recurring monthly fee. You SHOULD have access to be able to download the apps anywhere you have we access (nice for freelancers) Mac or PC. However, if you decide to stop paying that fee….at the next monthly check in….you lose access to the apps (and docs you may have stored in the cloud).
But you will always have access to the latest and greatest too as they will be doing updates and features on a more frequent basis….
The box set is the box set and it works the way box sets work now. You only have the apps in the suite you choose and on the OS platform you choose.
So it’s not for everybody, but I think I’m gonna try the CC for a while.

April 24, 2012 at 9:07 amThe real issue with Creative Cloud is whether it will work if you are not connected to the internet. Is it a monthly renewed licence that will work away from civilisation for the rest of that month?
jonhI used to be Jon Hiseman but I’m feeling better now.
