if you disable the vision track, does the audio play?

  • probably avoiding the question, I use adrenaline, but import almost all gfx/titles from ae, it gives you a real workhorse broadcast specific machine, (I think fcp is still trying to be all things for all people), while ae offers almost all the extra bells and whistles you could need.

you’re quite right, it just isn’t spec’d in the import menu, didn’t think to just try it. Cheers!

Have you tried opening a known good project and opening the old bins from there?

  • Does the reimported media play in the source window?

when relinking within your newly created project, have you deselected ..relink only media from current project

have you reimported some file based footage at an incorrect res?

you may have a bad file somewhere

dupe the sequence then chop into two parts, if one half plays then chop the other half in two and continue to find which clip is creating the error…

i think its called transcode in adrenaline, not in front of one now.

why not transcode, setting a movable drive as a target for the new media, export a medialess omf, pull this into express then relink to the media on the movable drive?

i think you have to use a dv resolution, even if you intend to omf transfer rather than transfer files.

You can convert the clips to a dv resolution within adrenaline, (I’ve done this after loading dv on adrenaline and then moving across to symphony,) though it is slow. Do you have movable drives, or wide network, if so you shouldn’t need to omf, just move the media across and rebuild your databases.

    avi-targa?

Not sure I understand, is it an avi or targa sequence.
it sounds like an issue with the alpha channels, I don’t think avi clips can carry alpha only rgb.

If its a targa seq check the sequential file setting, ie. is it pulling in the right duration of sequence, even if it is a white field!

Check your avid import settings, ignore alpha if its a full frame sequence, try invert alpha? Do you have ae? Or if its a file seq you can batch precess it in photoshop, ie. open-save as etc etc
