Adrenaline to Avid Xpress pro HD
Posted by The Big show on March 14, 2006 at 3:34 pmHello…
I am having problems transferring my project and OMF files from my avid adrenaline to my xpress pro HD suite. What is the wrokflow going between avid adrenaline to xpress pro HD?
I want to digitize beta footage inot the adrenaline and edit in xpress HD (no mojo).
Thanks – darcy

That, perhaps is my problem. Do you need to digitize the clips in adrenaline at the DV NTSC setting?
We were just digitizing at 2:1 (3:1, etc).

March 14, 2006 at 4:24 pmi think you have to use a dv resolution, even if you intend to omf transfer rather than transfer files.
You can convert the clips to a dv resolution within adrenaline, (I’ve done this after loading dv on adrenaline and then moving across to symphony,) though it is slow. Do you have movable drives, or wide network, if so you shouldn’t need to omf, just move the media across and rebuild your databases.

March 14, 2006 at 4:37 pmHello…
Do you convert the file to DV in adrenaline or do you just export it?
If you do convert it… how do you do this? We couldn’t find any reference to it in the manual.
We are able to export it out in the dv format but in doing so lose any reference to the sequence.
Thank you once again for your help…

March 14, 2006 at 5:26 pmi think its called transcode in adrenaline, not in front of one now.
why not transcode, setting a movable drive as a target for the new media, export a medialess omf, pull this into express then relink to the media on the movable drive?
