I would just convert the text to shapes, then animate the shapes path property to extend the tops of the letters.

I was hoping it wouldn’t be something that would take that kind of painstaking detail.
I wondered if there would be a way to do it with a shape replicator and wiggle paths with time offsets

So it is actually enlarging the hand, or is it just not rotating around the clock as you want?
If it just isn’t rotating properly, make sure that you didn’t just set the anchor point of the whole layer, but that you set the anchor point of that particular shape as well.
If it is physically enlarging, check to make sure you didn’t enable any expressions.

Just animate the the image properties as normal.
If you’re not getting the results you want, then you need to redo your mask. I don’t know what you’re trying to achieve, but maybe try taking it a step at a time. Go to a frame, scale the image and place it, then animate the mask path where you want it. Go to the next frame and repeat.

Enable time remapping and then use this expression:
loopOut(type = “pingpong”, numKeyframes = 0)
Then simply extend the comp for as long as you would like it to run.
This expression will tell AE to bounce between the 2 keyframes that were automatically placed as soon as you enabled time remapping.
