….hmmm…..never seen that before! What happens when you set the Track Motion back to the settings you had it before the cut?

The file extention .mov, .mp4, .avi are examples of containers (wrapper) that hold audio and video contents, which can be various specifications used my various codecs, such as h.264, h.265, and ProRes.
I’m not asking you to prove it, I don’t have Vegas Pro 14 and want to compare it to the VP15/VP16 and look for the HEVC/.mov that is in v14 previous version.

Sam, can you post a screenshot of Vegas Pro 14 with HEVC in a mov wrapper?

Hi Sam,
It’s not an .mov, it’s an .mp4, it’s listed as Intel HEVC, just above the MAGIX AVC/AAC MP4 format.

Cindy, I’m not clear what disappearing means? Are the clips gone from your Project Media bin? Or, they can not be seen in the Preview window?
If your clip require Quicktime to import them, there is a limit to how many .mov files can be successfully handled before strange things start happening. That limit for many is in around 40-50.
I know you are under the clock, so this might not help, but I would run the source media through ER Media Tool Kit (AudioSpot)and convert them to something like an mp4. Then replace your source media in your project with these new converted files.
There is no reason Vegas should have problems processing 150 clips in a 10 minute project, and your project is smaller.

I was following your thread when you made this last post. Glad you get it all worked out and as always Francois offers his excellence in assistance.
Now, don’t forget to BACKUP!

Sam, if you are using the h.265 as your capture format, a better idea would be to capture it in h.264 constant frame rate. If you want more quality than the default, then you may want to increase the capture bit rate.
h.265 (x265) is great for a delivery format as it is high quality and compact size. But that doesn’t make it good for source media. If you have a Nvidia GPU with HEVC support you can process the h.265 in Vegas. If not, you are making it more difficult for yourself.
Download the free app Mediainfo here: https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo
Install the program. Run the program. Go to the ‘View’ tab. Select ‘Text’ view. Fo to the ‘File’ tab, and load your source media file. Post a screenshot of the report here. As you can see it provides a lot of information about your source media file including the audio.

Hi Sam,
Between your two running threads it appears you have a resistance towards posting your source media specs, as Francois has requested. He is trying to help you.

Hi Sam,
“32 bit rate videos levels”
Vegas Pro 16 has either 8-bit, 32-bit floating point (video levels), or 32-bit floating point (full range). These are pixel formats, and have nothing to do with a “rate”. Are you talking about pixel format set in your Project Properties?
There is a very little advantage from using 32-bit floating point unless you are trying to achieve 10 bit, bit depth or HDR and neither of those will render when posting to Youtube.
I would imagine, but until you post the information Francois has requested this is just a guess, your screen capture source media is variable frame rate and this may have something to do with your issue. Or, you may be rendering in a different audio sampling rate.
Please post the Mediainfo requested along with a screenshot of your Project Properties and Render Template.
