Hi Hunter,
When you paste a title, two options appears, 1st “Create a new copy of the source media”, or 2nd “Create a reference to the original media”. If we select the 1st, any changes you make to the pasted title will only effect that title. If we use the 2nd, any changes you make to the pasted title will change the other titles from which you pasted and selected the 2nd option.
Selecting option #2 is common reason for titles to act as you describe. Which option are you selecting when you copy and paste a title media?

Here are 3 screen shots from your original 4K video taken in full screen mode……
This is during the spin transition and you can see the crystallizing on the plate and the nose of the car, not so much in the left top of the viewing area. This is present during the preview as well as the render, on my system. As we have stated more visible in 4K than HD. But, because it is in the preview (set Best (full), I would expect it to also be in the render.

This is during the first frame after the spin transition has completed, pretty nice image and what I would expect.

This is 1-2 frames after the transition and after the frame above, the photo gets pixelated. In your opening issue when you spoke about the still quality, this is what I thought you were referring to. This pixelation stays on the still for the remainder of the display time, about 5 seconds until the next transition.

There is none of that pixelation during the display of the stills in any of my examples. I thought that is what you wanted, so I thought I had success, you didn’t, and there was something different between our systems causing us to have different results (I still think this!). However, with that eliminated from my examples, at least, the crystallization in my examples is not satisfactory to you (I don’t like it either). Which is why I like the NewBlue transition which is clean before, during, and after the transition.
However, we probably have other differences, which may be more apparent, causing a slight difference in what we see visually. Although I can produce 4K, I cannot view 4K. Both of my monitors are only HD (1920×1080) resolution. So is my flat screen Sony TV, just 1080p. So, 4K video looks a little better (sometimes) on my monitor, but certainly not what you see if you have 4K displays. We also have different GPU’s which at times can produce different results.
So I am now reviewing what I/we have learned? We see things a bit differently because of the differences in our systems. We both are not pleased with the results of the 3D Blind transition in 4K. You are getting some blocky pixelation after the 3D Blind-Spin transition in your renders, I am not in my renders. I’ll only speak for myself, but I’m pretty sure I am still as confused now as when you started this thread, maybe not, I’m not sure! I still think there is a difference how some of these legacy transitions, which were probably coded for SD and HD resolutions, handle higher 2K and 4K resolution. That is probably why the NewBlue does a better job, it has cleaner coding match.
I think I may enroll in some obscure social science doctorate program, then copy & paste this thread and submit it as my thesis!!! But right now I’m going to down a couple shots of Jack Daniel’s, pop some extra meds, and call my therapist!

There is some crystallizing effect during the spin of the spin transition, which is a part of the transition effect. You can see it in the preview as well regardless of the resolution 4K or HD. It is more apparent (visible) at 4K because of the higher resolution, but it is also there in HD, just not as visible. Easier to detect if you look at the render frame by frame.
I thought your original issue was with the still, just after the transition going from clean to blocky pixelating, and that is not in the samples I posted, at least I cannot see them in the preview, in either of the 4K or HD renders in any regardless of the codec I used.
If your issue is the crystallizing (call it pixelating perhaps) during the spin, it is on part of the viewing area, not all, which is strange. If we draw a line from the bottom left of the preview area to the upper right, the crystallizing is then on the right side and a little bit towards the left, but not in the upper left portion of the viewing area!
Here is a screen grab of the pixeling in your original 4K Youtube example appearing shortly after the spin, which is what I thought you had an issue with…..

The crystallizing effect in the 3D Blind Spin transition, during the transition is the part of this transition I don’t like and prefer the NewBlue Flip transition instead, which is much cleaner.

I have uploaded four samples for you to view. All are using your source media both the drone footage and stills. I have attempted to duplicate your project as close as possible and using VP12 on the first and second, and using VP15 on the third and forth. 1, 2 and 3 are using your 3D Blind-Spin transition….

This sample is HD (1920×1080) 23.976, VP15 using Handbrake and Matroska h.265 codec, but in this one I made some minor editing changes from 1,2, & 3 above, as well as, light color correction and used the NewBlue transition, which is similar to your preferred 3D Blind-Spin, but I think it is much cleaner.

After working with the 3D Blind-spin transition and how it appears (on my equipment), I’m not a fan. However, if you are happy with it, that is what is important to you. If I were going to use this spinning type of transition, I would prefer the NewBlue MSPPS 3D Flip-OpenFX, which I used in number 4 above. However I doubt you have this in your version of Vegas Pro 12. I think I got it as a free add-on in either VP13 or VP15.
The reason I selected Handbrake and Matroska h.265 on #3 and #4 (although they are only HD), is because they are more efficient being a slightly better quality than MainConcept and smaller file size. I frameserve out of Vegas Pro directly into Handbrake and then select the rendering template for the specific project. If you are not familiar with frame serving it is very efficient once installed and setup through Vegas scripting and will work with VP12. I can provide a link to a tutorial if you are interested in trying it out.

I added one additional render to the test (in Italic)…..
So far, these are the test I have made and the results…..
– VP12 (770), MainConcept, 4096×2160, 23.976 fps, 3D Blind/Spin transition, drone footage is smooth, stills are clear (394 mg).
– VP12 (770), MainConcept, 1920×1080, 23.976 fps, 3D Blind/Spin transition, drone footage is smooth, stills are clear (382 mg).
– VP15 (361), Magix AVC, 4096×2160, 23.976 fps, 3D Blind/Spin transition, drone footage is smooth, stills are clear (719 mg).
– VP15 (361), Magix AVC, 1920×1080, 23.976 fps, 3D Blind/Spin transition, drone footage is smooth, stills are clear (759 mg).
– VP15 (361), Sony AVC, 1920×1080, 23.976 fps, 3D Blind/Spin transition, drone footage is smooth, stills are clear (194 mg). This by far is the best trade off between file size and quality rendered in HD
– VP15 (361), FrameServe to Handbrake h.264, 4096×2160, 23.976 fps, 3D Blind/Spin transition, drone footage is smooth, stills are clear (165 mg).
– VP15 (361), Sony XAVC S Long, 3840×2160, 23.976 fps, 3D Blind/Spin transition, drone footage is smooth, stills are clear (2.04 gb).There is a small difference in the transitions viewing on my PC. Otherwise the drone footage and still images look about the same between the renders. I would say the Sony XAVC S Long and Magix AVC provide the best quality both in source material and the transitions (with my equipment and eyes no visual difference when viewing), and this would have been expected. These are also huge files sizes compared to the MainConcept and Handbrake h.264. It’s always a trade off when uploading to online services, better quality -vs- small uploads/downloads.
Regardless, I still can not duplicate your original issue with the stills in 4K, or the drone footage in HD.
NOTE: In the sample test listed above, I used your music, the intro image, about the same amount of drone footage, 12 of your original high rez still images, and about the same amount of drone footage at the end, as you used in your first example project posted. So the file sizes I noted above with each render would obviously be larger if I had included all the still images you had included in your project.
