So far, these are the test I have made and the results…..
– VP12 (770), MainConcept, 4096×2160, 23.976 fps, 3D Blind/Spin transition, drone footage is smooth, stills are clear (394 mg).
– VP12 (770), MainConcept, 1920×1080, 23.976 fps, 3D Blind/Spin transition, drone footage is smooth, stills are clear (382 mg).
– VP15 (361), Magix AVC, 4096×2160, 23.976 fps, 3D Blind/Spin transition, drone footage is smooth, stills are clear (719 mg).
– VP15 (361), Magix AVC, 1920×1080, 23.976 fps, 3D Blind/Spin transition, drone footage is smooth, stills are clear (759 mg).
– VP15 (361), FrameServe to Handbrake h.264, 4096×2160, 23.976 fps, 3D Blind/Spin transition, drone footage is smooth, stills are clear (165 mg).
– VP15 (361), Sony XAVC S Long, 3840×2160, 23.976 fps, 3D Blind/Spin transition, drone footage is smooth, stills are clear (2.04 gb). There is a small difference in the transitions viewing on my PC. Otherwise the drone footage and still images look about the same between the renders. I would say the Sony XAVC S Long and Magix AVC provide the best quality both in source material and the transitions (with my equipment and eyes no visual difference when viewing), and this would have been expected. These are also huge files sizes compared to the MainConcept and Handbrake h.264. It’s always a trade off when uploading to online services, better quality -vs- small uploads/downloads.
Regardless, I still can not duplicate your original issue with the stills in 4K, or the drone footage in HD.
NOTE: In the sample test listed above, I used your music, the intro image, about the same amount of drone footage, 12 of your original high rez still images, and about the same amount of drone footage at the end, as you used in your first example project posted. So the file sizes I noted above with each render would obviously be larger if I had included all the still images you had included in your project.

Hi Rick,
I managed to get your original drone source footage downloaded and now in the process of rendering some test in both VP12 and VP15. Results so far….
VP12 (770), MainConcept, 4096×2160, 23.397 fps, 3D Blind/Spin transition, drone footage is smooth, stills are clear.
VP12 (770), MainConcept, 1920×1080, 23.397 fps, 3D Blind/Spin transition, drone footage is smooth, stills are clear.I’m working on VP15 currently and Magix AVC format in both 4K and HD comparison. After that I will test Ole’s suggestion using XAVC S Long for a comparison.
So far I can not duplicate the original problem you stated in the opening of this thread. Again, because of my bandwidth/data allotment, I probably will not be able to upload to Youtube the resulting test files until Friday.

VLC Media Player will play mxf files, it’s free. Another good free player is Daum Potplayer.

If you get the same results in VP15 that you get in VP12, on the same PC, and I don’t get those results in VP13 and VP15, that seems to me there is something in your PC system, perhaps the GPU, that is causing the issue. When I can download your drone source and can download your still sources from your library, if I also had your project veg file, I could then absolutely duplicate your project to see what results I get on my PC system.
When you have time, could you send to my gmail and attach your project file for both the vp12 and vp15, the 4k projects? Thank You.

That would be great. Can you get his build number when you are there, Thank You.

Ole Kristiansen, I have confirmed Vegas Pro 12 (build 770) came with Sony XAVC intra, and XAVC S Long-GOP (mp4).
Rick, I installed my old VP12 build 770, so when I do download your video I will test using it, to closer simulate your project. I scanned back through the replies and I didn’t see where you posted what build you are on. If I missed it, my apology, if not could you post your VP12 build number?
At any rate, you should have Sony XAVC render format to test, as Ole suggested, if you want to see if it makes any difference.

I can confirm the XAVC Long, XAVC Intra, and XAVC S Long, did come with Vegas Pro 13, but I no longer have VP12 installed so can not check that.

Rick; “Switched to Internet HD 1080 and all clips turned out fine, but again, just not as crisp, so I guess it’s not the video clips at all, just the 4k codec causing the hangup”
I don’t think it is the 4K video clips either, but on the 13th I will download and test. I also don’t think it is the 4K codec either, as I’m still not getting your issue.

Sony XAVC will provide better quality, I don’t think Youtube is accepting the MXF. However you could use XAVC S (long) which uses the mp4 container that Youtube will accept. Better quality than MainConcept of Sony AVC, with files about 4 times the size.
I doubt using the XAVC S template will make any difference with your issue, but I’ve seen stranger things!
