What I would like to do is find the best way of outputing from premiere to a high quality player like the Pixel Magic Media Box. What I’m not sure though is how to provide such a device with the correct file type, and if I can achieve this, then what the final quality will be.

To phrase it another way: What would be the best solid state means of recording a premiere file to playback onto a HD display, and will it be better than a DVD player?

Perhaps I,m trying to make a silk purse from a sows ear!

We have a 6600GT (PCI Express) which produces what looks like a mirror of the project window contents on the RHS of the primary monitor and LHS of the sec. monitor just in front of the task bar!
Latest drivers make no diff.
Probably unrelated but I just thought I’d post it in case.
(Can anyone better this!!)

I’m a little confused about your comment that Bernados’ system is not certified.

I too have a P5WD2 MB with P830 proc. It is a certified system for DL Extreme PCI-E cards, written up in the BM windows system descriptions.

Where do I start with premiere ‘serious errors!! Ours don’t crash premiere, they just sit there until you close the box, then it closes premiere down. You can then only open a copy of the project. At the close of work we usually reach: a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy. All the copies work though.

It does it when a frame is dropped on capture (with abort on drop checked)
It does it sometimes when rendering (usually with 2 + video tracks involved).
It does it occasionally when you delete a file.
It does it often for no apparent reason.

I don’t know why because my knowledge of computers is fairly basic, so like most other people I just guess and try ideas out.

Why don’t Black Magic design a standard report form so that when we write in with these problems they could be assessed (hopefully) in a logical way both by BM and other readers. What about error logs etc., don’t they tell knowledgable people anything? Doesn’t system information help (if you understand it).

It seems to me that there are a lot of people out there (here in my case) struggling with things that they cannot get to grips with.

We suffered repeated “serious error” problems on our system which is very similar to yours and seemed to have almost eradicated the problem by one or more of the following!

Have you tried disabling the auto save in Premiere?

Most of our problems happened when batch capturing video files, 10 bit YUV, seemingly coincident with dropped frames. This was solved by making sure that Decklink is outputting black to the vcr and using a longer preroll time.

We also had trouble with instability on our second monitor (flashes on deleting files etc.) – this stopped when I moved the Decklink to PC1e X1 slot (in the X4 slot I think it shares some resources with the video card).

DDR-2 settings from Corsair – You will need to enter the BIOS and go to the ADVANCED menu. From there go to JUMPERFREE CONFIGURATION and change the Memory Frequency to 800MHZ. After you have done this, go down to Memory Voltage and change it to 2.1V. You can Save your changes by pressing F10 after this and you should be all set.

I know these problems are not exactly the same as yours but hope that something here may help.
