    Hi,

I’m just about to set up a multibridge Extreme with Windows/Adobe combination for editing HD (main source Sony HDCAM)

I was just looking at the Decklink support notes and wondering about the following permutations:

    1. Will the Supermicro X6 / dual xeon set up perform as well as a Dual core processor in the Intel D975XBX?

    2. Would the Supermicro X7 series with options of later multicore processors be compatible?

    3. Is an Intel D975XBX2 with a Quad (extreme) compatibility usable.

    4. Does any of the above make any difference!!

Any comments, guesses or advice very welcome.

    Cheers.

I’m using a X7DA8 but am switching to an Intel i5000VXN SATA because of the PCIe slot layout. On the X7, with the 8800 GTX taking up two slots, the Decklink blocks the air intake of the VGA and it overheats.

But you may not have the same situation with a Multibridge. The motherboard works well with 10-bit HD.

    Hi
We have the asus a8n32 deluxe (4800+cpu)(asus ati 1900xt graphics) with the multibrige extreme it was the cheapest setup and the onboard raid with 4 sata 300gb drives it is fast enough for uncompressed hd.

Everyone here seems to love mac with fcp, which is why there is alot more suport and discussion about it.

    hope this helps
