I know that’s what it is SUPPOSED to do, but when I try to sync two clips which synced perfectly with plural eyes in FCP7 the result is a compound clip in which the secondary audio is NOT.in sync. I’ve tried it a dozen times.

No need for it in my work needs, but it is clearly outlined in the manual, both to red laser for standard dvd’s and if you have a blu burner, straight to that. Heard the implementation is basic, but still there.

It will burn blu ray to a blu ray burner…where did you read it didn’t?

Would like to be able to apply a dissolve to the audio on the main storyline without having the picture dissolve. Only way I’ve been able to do it is expand the two clips and drag the audio to overlap then apply fades.

Look under settings…you can choose how you want transitions to behave. Either works like you have it now where it adds the length of the transition so all the existing footage is outside the transition or switch it to have the transition use the current footage without lengthening your timeline. I am not near FCPX so not sure exactly the exact wording.

Works fine for me…very similar to the way you rename files in finder, click once, wait a beat, click again and it is highlighted, ready to edit.

You can. At the bottom of the timeline on the right is the Clip Appearance Window which you can switch to a variety of settings; one has no thumbnails for the video.
