I read your post below. You need a 3D application for this and then composite that into AE. Do yourself a favor get some training, because if you need to ask a question like this there is a lot you need to learn before tackling a project like compositing a realistic 3d modal in a scene.

    Hi Ed,

I did a preference reset and everything is working fine. Just order my copy. This is a great plug-in and is quite fast.

    Thanks

IBM made a laptop in the mid 90’s. The PowerSeries 820 and 850 Features included: PowerPC603e 100MHz microprocessor; Graphics capability; Mobile memory up to 48MB for the 820 and up to 96MB for the 850; CD-ROM, stereo speakers, and microphone; Optional video camera (for the 850 only).

    Choice of operating systems:
AIX Version 4.1.4 for Clients; Windows NT Workstation 3.51 (PowerPC Edition);Solaris Desktop 2.5.1 (PowerPC Edition).

Even 5.5 needed 128mb of ram, so if he has one of these I would say AE is a no go.

Opps That doesn’t do you much good since you are looking for the Washington Post. HAHA sorry about that. However, the same holds true for the Post the Nameplate was hand drawn as a logo and isn’t a font family, just like the NYT. And, of course is copywrited.

    Hi,

This is is the standard response from NYT.

“The New York Times logo [known as the Nameplate or Flag], which appears at the top of the page, is hand-drawn, copyrighted and cannot be reproduced without permission.”

The original designer of the Nameplate (The Masthead is the part of the newspaper where the names of the officers, editors, etc., are listed.) has been a long running debut in design history.

So to answer your question it isn’t a formal typeface. However, I’m sure if you do a search on myfonts.com or dafont.com you can find a very close knock off.

“Any rumors you are hearing are total nonsense.”

Bob is totally correct in his statements. He assumed you had heard some rumors, because nothing on the avid website states MC works with or ever will work with third party hardware like BMD.

is not a rumors as you can see on avid site
    https://www.avid.com/products/media-Composer/editor/index.asp

The Avid website clearly states MC software will only work with Avid Hardware or firewrie, which is stated very clearly in the link you posted for the Avid website. So the only choices for MC software are Firewire, MOJO, Adrenaline, and Adrenaline with Avid DNxcel.Like Bob said the only way this would change is if Avid was to buy BMD and add it to their line-up, which I just don’t see ever happening.
