I would only add that if you are considering any additional hardware such as Black Magic or AJA or additional Raid Storage, you begin looking at minimum system required for your anticipated work flow. I build custom systems everyday, and have been burned more than once by not paying attention as to what motherboard choices I’ve made before thouroughly investigated my client work needs. For what it is worth, I have seen this as well. You can’t load the content until you exit encore, and then reopen. Then everything is fine. It is reproducable on my system here as well. No matter what folder or subfolder you try and add, you can not do it until you exit and reopen. The funny thing is, it does not happen on all projects I have tried it with. There are not that many I want to add content to though. -
The chapter markers out of premiere are specifically for encore. I do not think there is a way to do this unless you export each chapter as separate timelines, and burn the disc using Nero. I have not tried it but it should work. You would have to name the files accordingly to play order. Also Nero is the only burnware that will let you establish a compliant disc that I have found. Roxio will not.

Similiar problem can be caused by wrong settings in Upconvert/Downconvert settings in the BM setup. If theese setings are not required for the current project you are working on make sure you turn them off for both input and output.

Try checking the display settings in control panel. Make sure it is checked for extend to Blackmagic. You shoulod see settings there for this. Or maybe the Dell is not input selected?

One thing you could do would be to edit in shorter sessions, and export to m2v files for chaptered DVD. Premiere does have 3 hour limitations. I have gone over three, but had similiar issues.

Could it be that you are using a lot of native premiere effects in this project that require lots of rendering? If so, get used to slowness as the project grows especially if you are moving lots of stuff around. Using nested timelines helps. The amount of footage has not been a big issue. We have ingested days of footage. But the length of the timeline is. 3 hours is max. What Matrox? Axio or RT product. Also make sure your scratch drives all set to fasted drive. Preferably fast raid storage.

The UVW-1800 requires reference video to the Black Burst input as well as Video input.(error 94-000) If you are not running a reference sync gen, try looping the video input to the black input on your deck. Only leave the termination switch enabled on for the Black.(in otherwords don’t double terminate)
