Oops! That is except for a WUXGA screen. I’ll bet all that will happen later as build to order.

  • Wow…. That does look interesting, 23K for a 4K camera and lens package! Can’t wait to see some footage.

I am actually pretty happy with it. I have grown to love 17 inch laptops on the PC side. Apple added most of what I expected except for the option for a faster graphics card. Should be an amazing system.

    Hi Tony,
I have question for you. Do you know if the MXO has to remain connected over USB to continue functioning? Do you think it would be possible to configure it with a Mac and then connect it to a PC.
    Thanks,

I think what is intersting about this card is the ability to take any full screen output from a system and output it over HD-SDI. That could then be captured using a Kona 2, or Decklink.

I read somewhere it was about $1,000. I was looking for a gizmo like this. Seems pretty cool to me, but of course I don’t plan on being a guinea pig.

    Hi Kevin,
Keep us posted on your testing. How you tested to see how many streams you can pull from the array?
    Thanks,

I figured you would get a kick out of that article. Truly amazing perfomance at that price. Don’t worry though, in just a few weeks someone will be complaining that it is too expensive!

  • Hi George,
That is good news about the upcoming cards. The MBP is looking better and better.

I disagree with your assertion that FW800 will not be missed. Until Apple starts to ship the MBP with something like FW800 or eSATA, pro users will have to sacrifice that single precious ExpressCard for storage instead for some cool video card that AJA or BlackMagic might come up with later.

The MBP looks to be a cool system but I for one am going to wait to see that the expected 17 inch model offers. In addition to higher resolution I am really hoping it offers FW800.
