    Today AJA announced 2K resolution video support with the v2 upgrade to the recently released KONA 3. In a major development, KONA 3 will now provide customers editing and finishing on an Apple Power Mac G5 with the capability to bring in and play back material at 2K.

    There’s the magic feature I’ve been waiting for. 720 to 1080i and 1080i to 720p in real-time on the way out. Brilliant! now I can continue to ingest / edit Varicam material in native 720 and then edit directly to 1080i HDCAM from my timeline. VERY exciting stuff!

    Would be nice if you had a standard def anamorphic <-> non anamorphic conversion also
