Yes, in Prefs > Editing, turn on Automatically overlap multiple selected media. Right underneath that option is the Cut-To-Overlap setting which determines the duration of the overlap (crossfade).

You can do it using an animated bezier mask to reveal the writing over time.

Low quality sources with a low signal-to-noise ratio such as VHS actually wind up as bigger files for a given bitrate because the noise is seen as more information that needs to be encoded.

Every FX and Plugin has a help file. You can access it by adding the plugin and clicking on the question mark in the dialog box (to the right of the preset box)

I’ve got Edward beat with one machine that thas Vegas 3,4,5,6,7 and DVDA 1,2,3,4 🙂

If you open a Vegas 6 project in Vegas 7, then save it, you will not be able to reopen in 6. If you save uder a different name, then you leave the Vegas 6 file unaffected.
