Dual core processing was optimized starting with Vegas 6.

Actually, the file size estimes are much better in DVDA 4.

Vegas has two separate capture programs. DV, which opens as a separate window. HDV, which opens as a new tab within the interface. You choose from the dialog that comes up when you first try to open capture.

If you don’t get the option, go to Preferences> Video and unckeck external capture.

DVDA will marry your audio to your video if its in the same directory as the video and has exactly the same root name, for example xxyDr.mpg and xxyDr.ac3 . Otherwise, you can manually drop it in.

The next question is why you are having a problem getting (presumaby) 1.5 hrs of video on the disc.

Also, be sure you are not rendering your mpeg from the mpeg you made on the first try. Go back to the original project.

As Peter correctly points out, adding timecode to the media in the Project Media tab will display the correct timecode for any part of the media whereever it is on the timeline assuming the timecode meta data is embedded.

More RAM will let you do a bigger slice of the timeline as a RAM render. Other than that, Ram is not a big factor in rendering time
