HDV capture error through Vegas 7 from Sony HVR-V1U
I can capture DV to Vegas 7 with the Sony HVR-V1U menu setting at “i.LINK CONV (ON)” when I switch to the “i.LINK CONV (OFF)” my computer recognizes the camera but Vegas 7 Capture will not recognize the camera. All other settings in the menu are set to HDV. Does anyone know why Vegas wont allow me to capture HDV?

Vegas has two separate capture programs. DV, which opens as a separate window. HDV, which opens as a new tab within the interface. You choose from the dialog that comes up when you first try to open capture.
If you don’t get the option, go to Preferences> Video and unckeck external capture.
