    Thanks for your response Dave,

    Being new at animation, as a matter of fact, AE is my first step, that being the case, I am editing and rendering in AE. My thinking for lack of experience is, if I can’t kill the volume of the acapella w/o interfering with the lip-sync, then I would render the acapella version and then bring it back into AE turn down the acapella sound and add the musical version.

    This is not meant to be a pro job, it will be played on a 65″ plasma with a bunch of mates. My main concern is the animation and am more than open to direction

    Tks Gary

    I have an acapella version and a music accompanied version, the acapella version gives a better lip-sync so, would I still get a good sync if I whipped into the acapella, then turn down the acapella sound and background the animation with the music accompanied song?

    December 13, 2011 at 1:01 am in reply to: De-compose??

    Hi Dan, Sorry for my tardiness, I had a real busy w/e.

    I got that from After Effects by de-composing 3 pre-comps, the pre-comps had approx 20 pre-comps inside which, consisted of puppet tool lip-syncs on both the top lip and bottom lip separately. The puppet tool lip-syncs were then pre-comped together at a total of 20 per line.

    These lip-syncs worked fine for a while, and then, this “End Script Tool Kit” opened with: 0_screenshot2011-12-10at8.12.02am.png

    Now my pre-comps are n/g no syncs.

    One of the things I noticed in the tool kit script was “bug”

    Is there a way I can take the lip-sync pre-comps from a past saving and bring them forward to my latest work??

    Is there a way I can debug my animation?

    Any help would be appreciated Tks Gary

    The problem is in the blue # type shown in the beginning of each of the title to some of the layers, hmmm he thinks, is there a different process used in the different layers.

    I took the layers w/o the blue # type sign and pre-comped them, perfect, no problemo

    Now it’s time to pre-comp the layers w the blue # sign, hmm everything disappeared.

    What’s the difference in the actual process?

    Well, the layers w/o blue were initially duped, and then within each layer, were transformed to a new position and key-framed by actually entering a digi # into the horizontal and vertical location in transform/position.

    As opposed to the layers w the blue # sign which were, dragged and key-framed into position,

    Well including the re-do’s I have another 54 dupes to go so, dragging as a process was much faster.

    Have a g’day

    G’morning Angie,

    No, actually I haven’t got to the 3d stage yet, still working on the basics, but thanks anyway.

    By the way, do like your dancing bottles and the puppet tool, as a matter of fact, after seeing that vid I was able to come up (I think I was original anyway) with a way of using the puppet tool to lip sync all my characters.

    Dan,

    You were 100% on the ball when you gave me the answer in a similar thread, your response was:

    amp = -.4;
    temp = thisComp.layer(“Audio Amplitude”).effect(“Both Channels”)(“Slider”);
    value + [0,temp*amp]

    Being a beginner I misinterpreted what I saw i.e. After I set in the expression, (above) I saw the bottom lip rise high above the face and thought I should change the – for a +. I was incorrect, I should have just brought the lip down with the vertical control, it’s working fine now, I have 63 animated mates in sync.

    now I have to learn how to fine tune the lip movements through the audio, if that’s possible!!

    anyway Dan, tks mate

    amp = +.06;
    temp = thisComp.layer(“Audio Amplitude”).effect(“Both Channels”)(“Slider”);
    value + [0,temp*amp]

    It’s a bottom lip going down, I start off with the vertical at 562 and it immediately changes to 584 I then moved forward a keyframe create new key at 562 it then goes to 584!!

    Thanks John, I took a look at sound booth sheeeet, I’m gonna play with AE basics tomorrow and try and get it laid out then pass it on to one of my audio mates to fix.

    Tks 4 your help

    All the best Gary

    Hey John, thanks for the response, yyyep, some of them i want to overlap, with some more prominent that others. Would you happen to know any tutorials in using the stereo mixer, at the moment as far as audio goes I have a hand full of thumbs

    Tks mate
