    Hi,

I am doing an animation, in my animation I have 68 characters, I’m making a mouth movement by just going from wide to small and narrow over 40 frames. I have been using the same movement for them all by (apple D) duplicating and repositioning, a bunch of them have a turquoise # type of logo in the layer name.

My situation is that, when I try to pre-comp all the layers I lose the lips. Can anyone help

    Tks

    Gary

    Hi there,

Are the layers 3D? If so then try clicking on the Collapse Transformations switch. You may also need to make the precomp a 3D layer.

    Hope this helps!

    cheers,

    Angie

    G’morning Angie,

No, actually I haven’t got to the 3d stage yet, still working on the basics, but thanks anyway.

By the way, do like your dancing bottles and the puppet tool, as a matter of fact, after seeing that vid I was able to come up (I think I was original anyway) with a way of using the puppet tool to lip sync all my characters.

    Tks Gary

The problem is in the blue # type shown in the beginning of each of the title to some of the layers, hmmm he thinks, is there a different process used in the different layers.

I took the layers w/o the blue # type sign and pre-comped them, perfect, no problemo

Now it’s time to pre-comp the layers w the blue # sign, hmm everything disappeared.

What’s the difference in the actual process?

Well, the layers w/o blue were initially duped, and then within each layer, were transformed to a new position and key-framed by actually entering a digi # into the horizontal and vertical location in transform/position.

As opposed to the layers w the blue # sign which were, dragged and key-framed into position,

Well including the re-do’s I have another 54 dupes to go so, dragging as a process was much faster.

    Have a g’day

    Hi Gary,

Glad u liked my dancing bottles! 🙂

Have you tried toggling the Collapse Transform switch to see if that helps?

If you want to upload your project I’d be happy to take a look.

    Cheers,

    Angie
