Sounds like a plan Dave, I’m on a somewhat of a long gig at the moment but will definitely give it a whirl as soon as I get home
Tks mate

Thanks Dave,
I initially downloaded the flv from youtube using Elmedia, it then was open in qT I then saved it as a self contained movie H264, I then imported it into After Effects and made a new composition of it. Once in After Effects I opened the composition at which point I noticed the waveform.
I’m kinda new to this so, if I am missing any details please let me know and I will get the info needed to fix this problem
All the best

I posted the thread on another site and this is the response I received
Gary,
For a still, it’s easy in PS. For motion, it can be a bit trickier. Now, After-Effects CS5 has a great new tool to help with doing this – The RotoBrush Tool. This TUTORIAL Here is a TUTORIAL from Adobe TV.

Good luck, and hope that this helps,

Hey Richard you are 100%!
The way it is working is, as you said “open clip” go to document settings and note frame setting and time, flatten into layers, convert to frame animation, add/subtract whatever frames one is going to dupe, convert back to timeline double check frame setting and time, adjust frame setting and/or time based on whether one added or subtracted, export as vid clip this is to double check the clip is seeing all frames if good or not cancel, make changes if necessary by adding/subtracting to time, select all, make frames from layers, play, export.
Once again thanks

Thanks for the feedback Paul,
Yes I definitely agree with the first paragraph, and possibly the second but let me explain my theory and what I am doing at the moment.
I am working in p/s cs4 extended and my QT video’s are 23.976 fps I am adding frames and changing the timebase i.e. if I start with 200 frames w/a timebase of 08:34 secs and I interweave 100 frames then I change my timebase to 12:41 I then export it into QT as 300 frames @ 12:41 secs.
I would have liked to have added the frames kept the timebase and jacked up the speed, only QT max”es out at 60 fps as well as the frame rate would end up being 35.96 fps ???.
Okay, here’s what I intend to do and that is when I have finished with my interweaving, I am going to convert my QT’s to image-sequence which , correct me if I am wrong, are loose timeless frames I am then going to bring them into Ppr and set a timebase.
I understand it’s going the long way round only I couldn’t find a software in the market to help me.
Yes, I know it sounds somewhat insane only, if it works it will probably be perceived as logical
“He was seen as insane until it worked. then he was called creative”

Thanks for the response Richard,
I actually tried in Ppr and was only allowed a max of 100 frames psd unless I did something wrong

“Today in digital video, it is my limited experience that when I want to change speed of a video I either loose or gain frames, depending on whether I am increasing or decreasing my speed” THIS WHAT I MEAN BY ORPHAN FRAMES.

Yes Richard I’m using extended!
The thing I am doing different here is I’m duplicating layers, it seemed much faster than duplicating a group then dragging them into place which I have done and it worked,
I also am starting with less than 200 frames per clip this way I don’t exceed the 500 max.
