It was on Auto. When on DV the video comes through but the sound is ruined. When I set it to HDV FCP could not find the deck. Anyway of fixing this?

I tried that and the sound still came out wrecked. I even tried making it dual mono in the fcp sequence instead of stereo to see if that worked, but nada.

Yeah don’t worry I’m not down with that at all, not my style.

Sorry I wasn’t clear, I currently work on a mac pro, and we’re in need of a new edit station. The boss however doesn’t want to invest in another expensive machine, and did a deal for an old non-intel based machine. I told him off the bat that it wont run FCP, but the seller is being contrary (for obvious reasons), so I just wanted to make absolutely sure before I get into an argument about this.

This is in no way me not being “serious”. Thank you for your response, much appreciated.

    Hi Rafael,

What do you mean by shift to prores? Do you mean move your dv-pal timeline to a pro-res one?

    Cheers

Thanks for all the tips guys, much appreciated!

Haha, well yes this was my easiest solution as well, just use a phone! But unfortunately there’s a very good chance the client could come back for a clean version, so we can’t really take that chance.

We’re not using the dv-pal cam anymore actually, we’re shooting HD 1080p on the Sony XD Cam EX1.

Again thanks for all the tips.

Hey Walter, thanks for getting back to me.

This is probably a really stupid question but how have they created the black frame around the images? Normally I’d just frame images up and leave a little black inbetween, but with this images are passing underneath and the black frame remains.

    Cheers

    Hey Dave,

Thank you for your response. Yes that’s about the only option I’ve got at the minute, I’ve been put in a difficult position!

Yes, this was edited before I ever arrived, and the previous editor did not keep the original project nor original footage. Yay!

    Thanks once again, much appreciated.

    Gary
