The problem with those files is most of the textures are .psd files, with E3D does not handle.

I’ve considered this, but seeing as the images I’m going to be moving are dependent on what’s going on in another, or what audio is happening, at one particular time it would be nice to see everything moving at once to get an idea of where to start/stop my animations.

it’s about an hour long and all the small images I’ve made need to be moving constantly. I don’t care about quality whilst I’m editing just so long as FCP is not so slow it makes me animating images next to impossible.

My problem is it’s about an hour long and all the small images I’ve made need to be moving constantly. Everytime I try to keyframe a move obviously my system gets very upset.

September 24, 2010 at 3:38 pm in reply to: Editing over Remote Desktop? Or alternate ways?

Having never worked with proxy files before, and not entirely sure of the workflow (which I shall research) how big do these files get? I mean for a particular project would all the rushes be able to be ftp’d to me somehow without too much trouble?

Thank you in advance, this would save my life!

Thanks for both responses! Regarding Server, I’ve never actually used it but after what you said I’m definately going to look into it.

Jason, does screenshare allow you to watch the sequence real time and hear audio?

    Thanks once again.

August 30, 2010 at 4:08 pm in reply to: Generate Custom mask in FCP?

Hey thanks for getting back to me.

That is the easiest way and I’ve got some great results in terms of look, but as I said a lot of these shots will need to be reframed within the box. Obviously with a crop the box will move with the image if I try and do that, so I need a mask on a seperate track that’ll stay put whilst I move the footage.

    Am I making sense?

  • Hey John,

Thanks for the reply. What I mean is that I would like to edit a sequence, then start a new sequence for the alternative screen and begin a new edit, but be able to play both at the same time? So I’ve edited one, then with new edit and can also play the first sequence to see how the new one is working with it?

I’m talking about the settings on the Sony Deck, my FCP settings are fine, and cheers for the snide tone I guess.
