11 bit is better than 10. We run our guitar amps with everything turned up to 11. 🙂

Well, the obvious answer is to ask the network why their ads look better than your show and what format do they take from their advertisers. And, what are they “possibly” doing different to ads and your show after they get the tapes/media. Asking here and having everyone second guess is not going to help.

Paul,
Thanx. I keep seeing that a 30″ will not work with the MXO, but I assume they mean on the output of the MXO.
I know about the pixel for pixel and color setup with the MXO. Will I get better realtime playback and FX with the MXO like an Aja or DecLink would do? I don’t really need those cards for input since I am only using SxS memory cards. I am now only working with Sony EX HQ 1080p30 and Pro Res HQ rendering out FCP. But add a one track of text or something and it’s red bar time. And the canvas window always shows low Q. Text always jaggy. I am aware of all the settings matching the clips, etc. I get realtime playback of one stream 1080p30 Sony EX, but adding one text track above it causes the red bar for render.

Will the MXO work on the second output of my ATI X1900, Mac Pro 3GHZ Dual Duo using an ACD 23″ attached to it even though I have a 30″ already attached to the system as the main monitor?

January 21, 2008 at 4:22 am in reply to: Adding RAM to a New Mac Pro. Advisable to Remove Standard 2GB?Keep everything in. I did for 6GB total. I did put the original 2GB in last as someone else suggested.

Kent,
I would assume your receiver has a line level output. Most do. You can probably just plug your receiver output into the Mac line in. You might even have a cable that has the correct plugs instead of the XLR. Otherwise you need to adapt the XLR to Mini. Check with the manufacturer and Apple to always be sure. Select the correct input in the voiceover tool (line in).
Seems like a lot of extra work, level setting, added compression/expansion from the wireless setup. But, if it’s the only mic you have,,,
I would use a hard line mic if possible.

I think I read that sometimes you need to reinstall the AJA (or update to the latest) to get the presets to show after installing FCS.
