Thank you Adam. I was missing a few steps that you just outlined. Such as Select all and uncheck preserve group.

    Congratulations on your book.

    Adam,
I was watching a tutorial (older v9) and they instantly had 6 faces in the object tree under the cube parent object. The teacher did not show how or eplain, it just popped on after making the cube an editable object. This was Cineversity tutorial.

I tried your way in r10 and it appears to take many steps to get all six sides separated and listed on the object manager. Was there possibly an old plugin or something they were using?

Do you know why I now get all soft edge transitions when beveling the cube faces (I see this on text also)? I thought v9 always gave me sharp edge transitions on beveling. All I can figure out is to always adjust the phong tag down in the angle. Sorry, I am not an expert in this app, but learning quickly.

I should have explained my last post. I find the easiest way is to make one 3 second text event setting everything as needed. Now copy and then Paste Repeat 299 copies. Now go in an edit 299 events to each change the text. Use ripple to open up the timeline to add what is needed in between the text. Or save it as a separate veg and use it to copy paste events as needed to another open project.

and then go in and change the text on 299 events. 🙂

sorry. I did not understand the extent of your project. Set the Pref-Editing-Still Length to 3 as said before. Save a preset to recall your default font, size, etc.

I see. I usually make text events long enough for a typical speed of reading of what is there. Are all 300 text events using the same amount of text? 300? Maybe a book would be better than a video. JK

This is usually done with apps like Combustion, Fusion, AE and Boris RED by usuing motion tracking and corner pinning. A lot of keyframing work in Vegas will do it, like Ed said.

I also customize the toolbar so the Lock button is always there. I usually lock one or two events temporarily then unlock when done. Easy to click the one button Lock. Or lock a whole track with select events to end like Ed said.

How hard could it be to drag the right edge on the timeline event back 2 seconds to fit? A pop up dipslay shows the amount of frames you have moved it. Snapping will make it fit a hole.
