Starting monday when I recieved my copy of Vegas 6, I’ve been scouring the interwebs trying to find a tutorial that details how to do a specific form of titling in Vegas.
A link to a video that includes the kind of titles I’m describing is here (https://andrediamant.free.fr/videos/duracell@barden%27s%20boudoir19032005.wmv) in case I don’t do a good enough job with words.

Lets say you have steadicam shot of an actor sitting at a computer. The actor is typing away on the machine. A title apears as if it was a sticky-note stuck to the monitor. The title is in 2d. There is no depth to it, and it is completely 90 degrees from the camera even though the computer monitor may not be. This title apears along with another one on the computer case. When the actor wheels away from the computer on his chair, the camera follows him leaving the monitor, computer and the titles out of frame. The titles were effectively stuck/glued to a location in the 3d world.

To Vegas or not to Vegas with my titling problem?

Thanks for the help, and having an awesome forums guys.

Ok, maybe not everyones taste in content, but the first 30 seconds were the important part : )

It had been such a long time since I’d seen it, but my writing partner told me that Spiderman had similar titles to what I’m looking to do. So I revised my search and still.. Nothing.

Is the correct video. I do believe these credits and I, are destined to elude each other.

Got a shorter example? 54+ meg is a tad larger for a short example. (Plus, it seemed to be downloading really slowly)

Basically, your answer is yes. However, you’ll need to manually add the keyframes to follow the camera movement.

I agree, It looks like he referenced the title to the bottom part of the amp head, and the cord, then you would have to keyframe (one frame at a time) keep it lined up to it’s original reference spot. Depending upon how many frames you want it to last, it should’t be very difficult, just time consuming.

This is usually done with apps like Combustion, Fusion, AE and Boris RED by usuing motion tracking and corner pinning. A lot of keyframing work in Vegas will do it, like Ed said.
