You have to force the firmware downgrade back to the previous version, the app is in the Applications> Aja Utilities folder

I have been using the Sonnet SxS Express card TB hardware combo with the various builds of Yosemite on a 1st Gen Retina laptop while OnSet without issue over the last 4 months with out seeing any hardware issues.

I will recommend that both the Sony SxS and UDF drivers be installed for optimal performance.

YES you can embed external TC into the video stream over SDI note that the TC Out on the KiPro is non-functional during recording – the unit does not offer passthru of TC

SO the embedded TC only happens on Playback of a pre-recorded file. There is no TC output during a live recording.

Thats because 50p or 60p frame rate is not supported in 1080 on the Samurai.

“The AVCHD 50p does´t play smooth at all (on a 2013 Mac Pro with dual700) “

TOO much overhead to play back the files, what storage are you using- needs to be pretty fast to support that frame rate

“I´m stumped, because some B-Roll Canon footage just works fine..
what are we missing??

use It everyday on my current TV series. Moving nearly a TB of content daily with SPP, use it over all other products for my day to day data wrangling.

He is telling you that you should handle the files in your workflow just as if they were coming from the Arri Alexa.
You tell the lab what you want, if that is DNX36 that what you should be getting.

Don’t you as a post guy you tell the lab or DIT the format you want/ need to edit in or they pay you / your facility to convert it to your preferred format.

You do not say what you are trying to output nor any formats.

My guess is you are sending out progressive content to the converter when it was interlace or psf. This is set from within the aja control panel.

Note: that Adobe CS6 also required a separate plug ins download from the Aja website that is not part of the base driver.
