On my point of view, the camera should be the master TC, for takes in MOS mode which made between SYNC scenes.
“Arri ( along with many others) make adapter cables, a good rental house should have the cable, have theme get a cable with the alexa.
As for master TC- Audio always creates the Master TC when shooting dual system sound in the US as well as most of the rest of the world. this is becuase cameras are notorious for not staying in sync ( and that does include both alexa and red’s cameras)
Even when shooting MOS or VFX plates.

I disagree.
a video camera should be able to record for more than a few minutes.
it should also be able to output a continous video signal that can be recorded or montiored at full rez.As with 35mm cameras in the still world, they were used extensively but the the highest quality work was always done with the larger format Hasselbads and “professinoal grade” 4×5 and 8×10 view cameras.
So in much the same manner, the tools work the same way
DSLR = 35mm
Hasselbald = 2/3″ broadcast
4×5 view camera = 16mm / HD
8×10 view camera = 70mm/ 35mm / REDs, Alexa, Sony F35/ F65.you use the tool that is best for your needs.

you either have embedded TC or LTC.
the Kipro does not extract TC from an embedded stream, on most of the shoots I work on the MASTER TC comes from Audio.
After the clockit device is used to Sync the Camera then just put it on the Roland.
make sure to resync the camera after a battery change or anytime the camera has set without recording for more than an hour, as the TC can drift ( but just a litte)

40FPS is not a standard video frame rate and the kipro can only record standard SMPTE video signals that can pass over a single HDSDI feed, and that max frame rate is 30p in 1080 and 60p in 720.

The Kona’s are designed to work with the Cineform codec to allow a previously Muxed 3D file to be output as discreet right and left eyes.
Aja does not support output of seperate, individual eyes at this time.

did you run the system update to load the Lion codecs?
your QT codecs do not work in Lion.I would try a reinstall of FCP then Update your computer via Software update.

you do not say how you are monitoring or what you are feeding your client monitor.
note that HDMI cannot see a PSF signal, it needs to be set to be “P”

if your unit is using the Aja AC adapter, you need to call tech support to have a new brick sent out as a replacement.
if you are NOT using the Aja Power supply- chances are the unit you are using is not correctly rated for operation of the KiPro.

“I have brought her before- she has a schedule conflict and cannot join me, hey its been 10 years of leaving on my anniversary and I still have a place to stay (most of the time).
This time around, I think she will be glad to be rid of me.She does get the benefit of traveling with me occasionally, hell I have taken her to China, all over Europe multiple times and I think she may join me in Taipei later this year and I am taking her 1/2 way across the US just so she can get a behind the scenes peak at the US version of Antiques Roadshow being shot later in August.
