[Nathan Tinsley] “Should I be considering the Black Magic Intensity Extreme?”
I see no sense whatsoever in getting a 1080 only playback device for a 4K workflow.
As far as I know the only device that is supporting 4K workflows over Thunderbolt is BMD’s UltraStudio 4K model, but I have not had a chance to test any BMD products in quite awhile so I am not sure what the status of that product’s development is.

[Nathan Tinsley] “I’m running FCPX on an iMac(Mid 2011, i7, 16 gigs ram). Am I a bit presumptuous in thinking that with a proper raid array upgrade I can do this edit?”
Handling Raw media at 4K requires a massive amount of GPU processing not available in the iMac, that being said FCPX can and does handle 4K content ( even 4K HFR up to 60P) as long as your machine is not doing the heavy lifting.
I have worked with both RED and f65 Raw files on my retina laptop. (i7 +16G Ram) with little issue once I had converted the content to PRHQ for editing, I would NOT recommend working directly in Raw if at all possible.
I would warn you that one single Pegasus array may not have enough available space for a full 4K edit. my HFR project filled 2 of them for a 3 minute deliverable after all of the media and converted files were executed.
How are you planning on Monitoring?

[Roger Zammit] “So basically why are these files shot on Arri (files are Prores 422 & 444 25-120fps) all being seen as 25fps. Does the Arri write record 120fps and write all those frames as a slowed down 25fps file? “
That would be correct, the base frame rate in the camera is the rate at which all files are played back at, and is pretty much the same in all HighSpeed acquisition.
If you have images of the original media on the cards the metadata should be able to inform you as to all of the specifics of the recording.

[claudio degli angeli] ” capture video at 1080 x 50p for Final Cut”
What are you capturing from at 50p?
Do you understand that you need to use Dual Link or 3G connections to capture 50p?
[claudio degli angeli] “what is the difference between 1080p50a and 1080p50a”
I think you mean to say A & B channels ! that would be for the dual link connection. ( 2 HDSDI cables)
[claudio degli angeli] “‘m new to the forum how do I attach a photo”
the small icons above your reply window- 3rd from Left is a camera – use it.

You are correct in that the TC out connection is non-functional during recording.
But your question earlier was
Does anyone know if I plumb an analog time code from a generator into the TC in on a KiPro will it embed the time code into the SDI out signal?
and that answer is YES you can embed external TC into the video stream over SDI.
Tom is also correct that the TC Out on the KiPro is non-functional during recording – the unit does not offer passthru of TC

[Roger Schroeder] “Does anyone know if I plumb an analog time code from a generator into the TC in on a KiPro will it embed the time code into the SDI out signal?”
Yes it will. you need to set the proper parameter in the CONFIG menu for TC input.
From the Manual
8.0 TC IN TC VALUE (default)
allows TC Input values from
SDI RP188
LTC
FW400
TIME OF DAY
RS422Use the value specified in parameter 8.1 TC VALUE
Use the timecode read from the embedded RP188
metadata in the SDI inputUse timecode from the LTC input connector
RS422 in-point TC value is used for the start value of a
recording (presented only if 35.2 is set to RS422 Only)gary adcock
