How does the varicam sl0-mo quality stack up with the newer hdx900 which shoots 50 / 60 frames? the post process should be a lot more straightforward than a varicam which otherwise requires a blackmagic card or kona to output at 1080i ..etc etc..

We are actually shooting 720/50p. Is progressive better for slo mo than interlaced…

buy the biggest one – regular matteboxes will not allow the fujinon to go full wide…chrosziel works of course – it’s just expensive for what it is…

I don’t use a varicam, but have the same deck.

You need to go into the menu settings and tweak around. in certain modes, firewire output or downconversion may not work – check the manual.

also, i know the setting has to be HD_SP in one of the settings. will post if i have more info.

We can get sound – but no picture. Is Quicktime Pro or MPEG add on for Quicktime needed?
