To clarify – the files are now Quicktime files in XDCam HD codec – still cannot play in QT 7.2. Have tried renaming them as .mov files as well.

Thanks. The Matrox MXO is touted as being a replacement (along with a HDMI input monitor) to a pro monitor…is that a legit claim? Can you make the same adjustments via the monitor and software?

Thanks. To be specific – my question is not directed at which is “better” but how the eye detects any difference. I know the difference between the “progressive” look vs. the “interlaced” look.

The question is whether this matters when dealing with 1080 or 720 or if it’s more of a technical scanning issue that we shouldn’t worry about aesthetically. Or even if NLEs work better in one rate or another.

I believe that Panasonic initiated 1080 with this camera mainly because of the broadcaster’s preference for 1080 deliverables. But the question is: is there a visual difference? Thanks.

we bought a bunch of IDX batteries – they have died faster than any other battery in our stock. Some died before the year ran out. Dreadful. Will never buy IDX again. the sony v-mounts on the other hand, have been brilliant.

the china batteries are definitely value for money from our perspective. we shoot quite a bit in china and the whole country is using them. however, i have been told by insiders that it boils down to the quality of the battery cell inside…
