You need a 64 bit OS for running cs5. The last one supported in XP 32bit is CS4

720×576 is not the best resolution for screening in a theater, so h264 can´t be bad for the same thing…
I would work in a 1080p sequence fitting the original footage frame rate, PAR, etc.. to keep an HD master, and then export to progressive 720×576 which will be letterboxed. H264 will be fine if you set a high bitrate, according to the maximun file size allowed.

The proyect pannel folder structure is supposed to always be kept in the premiere pro proyect file (.prproj), all your media can be compiled and saved in the back up folder, and names can be changed according to new names you have configured in the proyect if you set this option in the Proyect Manajer window previously to making the backup. Then don´t re-open the proyect from the saved ppro proyect file with options “Save” or “Save as”, but from the backup one. This might keep all the links to the new path of your media, but if it doesn´t you only have to link one file, the others will be recognized by PPro and automatically linked and imported.

I think it´s very simple: put the clips secuentially in the same layer (video 1) and then add a wipe transition between them, setting a 4 pixel black border. Then place the texts in a second layer (video 2)

You need a 64 bits operating sistem for Premiere and After Effects, so the answer to your question is you could run Photoshop and other programs, Ilustrator, Dreamweaver, etc… in 32 bit, but not PP neither AE.

Make as many copies (duplicates) of the title in proyect pannel as number or sequences in which you have to use it, and change only this duplicates to be used in other sequences.

You can use the Time code filter, it places a timecode over the image, don´t remember right now in which cathegory it is, but just look for it in the video filters pannel (perhaps in the Video cathegory).

Go to Proyect-> Proyect Manager and save a backup of your proyect, you can select there the sequences to save with the backup proyect file, choose the one you want and that´s all, the new proyect only have this sequence you selected with the files involved in it.

First you need to make all the clips .mov “offline” in the proyect pannel, select all, right click and select unlink. Then you have to reconect them to the new mts media files, right click again and link them to the new files. If they are in the same folder you only have to re-link the first one, premiere will recognize the others, as long as the file names were the same.
