hi, is that good for you if i just plu the camera to my bookpro and simply copy the whole card and place them on the hard disk. then, at home, open the EX Clipbrowser and convert. would it be a faster way in an outdoor condition and not having so much time to empty/backup the cards content? should i copy the entire card or just video files? thanx

April 2, 2011 at 2:27 pm in reply to: HDV/HD to DVDsd: real poor quality

    Hi
i’m trying your ways but cannot get any improvemnts in final dvd quality from my HDV clips.
I’ve noticed tis: i’ve imported HDV clips via fireway, auto-conversion to ProRes, so i have a prores timeline with prores files. The fact is that i’ve always set Render controls (in Seq settings) to 8bit and not 10bit/YUV. Should it be changing the quality of the final QTmovie to put into Compressor/DVDS changing this setting to 10bit/YUV (i get right now that ProRes is 10bit..not 8 bit)?
    tnx

    hi thanks for tips.
i usually set 2 pass vbr average 6,5 max 8,5, then go for encoding.
    still can’t get un-pixeled texts–
of course i know sd dvd is not the same than bluray disc, but i’ll be glad to get something better out using HDV clips than using sd clips..

Hi Bouke, i’ve tried but it doesn’t work:

got mfx clips (already converted/imported in Vegas by XDCAM Transfer app)
tried to put them in the XDCAM Transfer App for Final Cut ..but it doesn’t see them!

lokks like something gets missing through these tranfer paths.

maybe i should get the “raw” material form the SxS card or its backup folder?

no way to open an mxf file..just VLC let me see that..
